| Very Nice Spot It would be
unfair to say we have the most picturesque spot, as the entire area is
beyond doubt, simply stunning. Nevertheless, being located on the outskirts
of the village and surrounded by nothing but fields you can be assured
a quiet nights sleep. The highest peak in the Picos is the namesake of
our hotel and not without reason. The Torrecerredo lies a few kilometres
to the south and we are the only hotel to have privileged views of its
normally snow-capped summit. We were summed up a few years ago by the
Daily Telegraph as "The one star hotel with the five star view" |
 |
| Bikers.
For those of you who have stayed in the past and suffered from our "spongy" car-park, the good news is, it has now finally had a proper tarmac surface, so your beloved super-bikes will no longer sink into the ground. |
 |
We have now finaly moved into the modern world and installed wi-fi in the reception / bar / terrace areas. So if you have pressing need to catch up on the lastest stock prices, news, or get the cricket results, feel free to bring your iphone or strawberry. (the picture shown is a generic model and might not corresponde to the actual model used) |
 |
Dress Code The Torrecerredo no longer has a dress code (please take a look at the staff page to get a general idea) so it would be would be greatly appreciated
if gentlemen would wear a tee shirt and trainers when using The Bar, The
Palm Terrace or The Restaurant (DJ´s are not acceptable in these
areas unless its Wednesday). |
 |
Parking After much deliberation,
we decided to scrap the design for the multy storey and subterranean options
and go for the more traditional "flat piece of land" type car
park. We have capacity for 20 cars and if your arriving on bike (as many
people do) we have an undercover bike stand. When in season, feel free
to pick the cherries. |
|
Moving up in the world Sorry,
we don't have a lift. If you are confined to a wheelchair or simply have
difficulty climbing stairs, please ask when booking for one of our ground
floor rooms. The lower level garden terrace is serviced by a ramp. |
|
Getting Around We have a fleet of Specialized Rock Hopper front suspension bikes for all our biking
trips and when available, for daily hire. If requested, helmets are available
(please bring your own gloves). Please take a look at our dedicated biking weeks on the activities page. (the photos shows an example of what not to do with one of our bikes) |
 |
Medical Services Arenas is
proud to have just opened its brand newish medical centre. If you should
be taken ill,(see above photo) help is nearby. In addition to any travel insurance you
may have, if you are a European citizen, its worth remembering to bring
a european medical card (replaces the now defunct E111). |
|
Cultural Differences If you
do get caught out and the banks are closed, we will be happy to change
money and travelers cheques (as long as we can find the exchange rate
on the internet). |
 |
Credit Cards We accept most
major credit cards. Also, in the village there are three cash dispensers. |
 |
The Flora One of our little
pride and joys is the garden, which is found on the south side of the
building and has the best views of the mountains. It comes complete with
a cosy little bar attached and makes a great location for sitting around
after a day out, with a cool drink in one hand and watching the world
go by on the other. Alternatively, grab some binnies and do a bit of Eagle
spotting. |
 |
Exotic & dangerous animals Pets
are welcome
within reason. Please contact us in advance if you're
planning on bringing any exotic or dangerous animals. |
|
Central Heating Outside of
the summer months, the often-clear days bring with them, cool evenings.
The hotel has central heating through out. |
|
United Nations Between us,
we speak no fewer then 5 languages. Spanish, English, German, French and
the most widely spoken language in the world....Cantonese.. is no longer available, sorry. |
 |

Helping the environment. The hotels runs a policy of recyling waste products. Low energy lighting is used in most of the hotel. All hot water is provided by solar panels. Not only
does this help to save the environment, but its real benefit, is that
we've always got plenty of it
when was the
last time you got the cold shower
|
 |
Animal Rights For the ever-increasing
