Meals

Breakfast. Buffet style and includes cereals, fruit juice, tea or coffee, “Sobaos”, toast & marmalade. If you like, you can also order scrambled eggs. You can keep coming back as many times as you want to ensure lots of energy for the day ahead.

Packed Lunches. For those who want a packed lunch for the days activities, we can provide a good sized roll with various fillings, a piece of fruit and a bar of chocolate of energy bar.

Evening Meals. Every day we offer a choice of two different dishes. One being traditional Spanish cuisine and the other, our vegetarian option, all washed down with lashings of cheap plonk or the good stuff from our wine list. (not included in the price) We can also provide a children´s menu on request. As we only provide meals for guests staying in the hotel, we would appreciate it greatly if you would advise us as early as possible if you intend taking your meals "in-house". On Saturday evenings (weather permitting) we have a BBQ in the garden, which has proved to be very popular with both guests and staff.

Below is an example of a typical weeks menu, although dishes will change throughout the summer to take advantages of the fresh vegetables from our "huerta" vegetable plot.

       
Sunday

 

"Lombarda con Patatas" A filling potato & cabbage stew followed by "Carne Guisada" a kind Spanish equivalent of that well known Hungarian dish, Goulash. All finished off with "Peras al vino" baked pears in a red wine sauce.

 

 
Monday

"Lentejas" Lental stew followed by "Delicias Vegetarianas" Vegetable mixed plato with such things as mushroom stroganoff, garlic stem omellettes, creamed potatoe and tomato salad, followed by "Mousse de Limon" our home made Lemon Mousse.

   
Tuesday

 

"Crema de Calabacin" Cream of Marrow farmhouse soup with a main course of "Lirios" Blue Whiting with chiped potatoes and a rice salad. For the desert, "Melocotón al Toffe" Peaches with a sicky sweet toffee sauce!

 

   
Wednesday

"Garbanzos con Bacalao y Espinacas" Chickpea, Cod and Spinach stew, "Cordero con salsa de Romero" Roast Lamb with rosemary! and a green bean salad. To round it off "Cuajada" Cheese curd with local honey, or one of Mariajo´s lovely sweets.

Friday

 

"Fabada Asturiana" Asturian Fabada Bean stew (Its what made asturias famous) followed by "Berenjenas Rellenas" Stuffed Aubergines with salad and chips. For the sweet "Flan de Queso" Home made Chessy Créme Caramel.

 
Satuday

 

Due to the fact that it always seems to rain when we attempt to do a BBQ, we have now replaced it with. ur...."Picos Suprise"
